"I think in the first half we did rather good. In the second half we complicated life a bit but that's okay, we have only been here a couple of days.

"Korea are a very aggressive team, they are good on the ball and I think they can be a surprising team."

The Swede also confirmed Hargreaves had suffered a minor knee injury but that it was not a major problem, "It was a slight knock but I don't think it's serious. That's very good, no injuries."

Eriksson will name his final 23-man squad at around 4pm this afternoon on TheFA.com but was unable to confirm whether a final decision had been made on the fitness of Kieron Dyer, who is battling against a knee injury.

He said: "We will see. We wanted to play the game first. After the meeting we will see."

He also praised an outstanding performance from Hargreaves, who took his chance in the centre of midfield with both hands.

"He is hard-working, he is very quick and he has improved his technique very much.

"You must have games. The league finished on May 11 but Hargreaves finished a week earlier so you must have a couple of games."

Eriksson concluded: "I know we can play better and in 12 days we will try to play better.

"We did well in the first half. It's good to have that game.

"The grass is very slow, in England they are not used to that. The grass is wet. It is more difficult for them."

Eriksson also confirmed David Beckham will definitely be in his squad as his recovery continues from his foot injury.

"He is practising every day hard. Up until now one day in the gym and one day on the pitch."

Michael Owen grabbed England's opener in the 25th minute but a poorly defended corner allowed Ji Sung Park to pull Korea level six minutes after the break, in the 1-1 draw with the World Cup's co-hosts.

But the Liverpool striker was happy that the team came through without injuries.

"It was nice for me to score and we got off to a decent start. Unfortunately we conceded one in the second half but the main thing was it was a run-out and we had no injuries.

"It is important to play games together. The downside is that you can pick up knocks but we have not done that.

Owen knows, however, that the pressure will increase on England as the first game against Sweden on June 2 approaches.

"There will be a lot more pressure when the World Cup starts but we are feeling our way in, getting used to the climate, the different conditions.

"We will expect to be a lot better as a team as we go on. This is another game under our belts."

Trevor Sinclair was disappointed at his 45-minute outing today and is enduring a nervous wait until the final squad is named later this afternoon.

Sinclair is in the Far East on stand-by in case Kieron Dyer fails to recover form his knee injury.

Eriksson must make a final decision this afternoon and Sinclair admitted the uncertainty has played on his mind.

"It was a bonus getting on but I gave the ball away a lot," he said. "I'm on standby until I get told otherwise. Hopefully (the squad will be named) soon. It plays on your mind a bit so hopefully we will find out soon.

Sinclair was also delighted that England escaped without any serious injuries - though Hargreaves picked up a slight knock - and revealed he and Dyer had kept in touch by mobile phone before the Newcastle man flew out to join the squad.

"We definitely don't need any more injuries,'' he said.
