Gary Neville looks back with FATV at his, and England's, last trip to Moldova.
England begin their qualification campaign for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil on Friday evening, when they face Moldova in Chisinau and for one member of Roy Hodgson's staff, it's a fixture that brings back memories.
Gary Neville, fresh from featuring in Euro 96, was part of the team under Glenn Hoddle who travelled to Chisinau in September 1996 to kick-start qualifying for the 1998 World Cup in France.
The game is also remembered for the debut of Neville's Manchester United team-mate David Beckham and ahead of the trip east, FATV showed Neville some highlights of the game.
"I didn't even think they'd have kept this game on video," quipped Neville.
"I remember playing right wing-back under Glenn and it was obviously Becks' first game for England and Terry Venables had just left after Euro 96.
"Everyone was high about the England team at this time and we played good football in what was a brand new system."
England won 3-0 on that occasion thanks to goals from Alan Shearer, Paul Gascoigne and Nick Barmby, with Neville adding: "I hope we have the same result on Friday!"
