England ace Ashley Young could still be considered a relative newcomer to the squad and part of the Three Lions future himself, but after seeing the ability of fellow young guns Jack Wilshere and Andy Carroll at close hand, he believes there is plenty to be positive about.
A former Under-21 international himself, Young's form at Aston Villa this season has caught Fabio Capello's eye and by scoring the winning goal in the last match against Denmark in February, he has put himself firmly in the running for a starting berth against Wales on Saturday.
And the former Watford man spoke to FATV on Thursday afternoon, when he revealed his impression of two more new faces in the Senior squad to have graduated from Stuart Pearce's Under-21 squad in both Carroll and Wilshere.
"They're two very good players who will be certainly be for the future, if not for the present," he explained.
"You see Jack playing for Arsenal week in, week out, and you see how composed he is on the ball. He really has been one of their best players. He's great on the ball, he can do so much for the team and create magic out of nothing.
"Andy is another one, you saw him at Newcastle and he was doing fantastic there. He's one of those players who puts his head in where others wouldn't, but he's not just a target man; he's quick, he's got good feet and he's an all-round striker.
"They are definitely two to look out for and if they get the opportunity to play on Saturday, I'm sure they'll give their all for the team."
Young also made it clear that the squad don't want to return back across the border on Saturday evening with anything less than three points, after drawing their last qualifier with Montenegro in October.
"I think every qualifier is important, you have to win them all," he added. "I think every game we go into we need to take three points and that's our aim on Saturday.
"Montenegro was 0-0, which was obviously disappointing but we've got to focus on this game and it's vitally important to get the three points."
