Manchester United's Phil Jones reflects on last England game of 2011.

Whilst it's been a 'whirlwind' 2011 for Phil Jones himself, Tuesday's victory against Sweden at Wembley also ensured that England ended the calendar year undefeated.

The Manchester United star has only broken into Fabio Capello's squad in the second half of the year, but has been an important player over the last two games with his holding midfield role against both Spain and Sweden.

Speaking to FATV after the game on Tuesday, Jones admits he's been content with how the last week has gone for the Three Lions.

"We're very pleased, we set our stall out tonight and I thought we passed the ball very well," he said.

"We played as a team, did very well again and kept a clean sheet."

The result also ended a run of 43 years without an English victory over the Scandinavians as well as seeing the team net what was England's 2000th goal in history.

"We were aware of that and it was in the back of our minds before the game," admitted Jones.

"So it's good to end that run (against Sweden) and hopefully we can kick-on from here and get a few more wins under our belt going into the tournament next year."
