Joleon Lescott is hoping that Manchester City's players can take their fine domestic form onto the international scene this week.
City have won all three of their games in the Premier League ahead of the international break, and have six players in the England squad and Lescott admits that going into games with Bulgaria and Wales off the back of fine club form is a boost to the likes of himself, Joe Hart, Gareth Barry and James Milner.
The defender has also targeted becoming a regular in Fabio Capello's side over the forthcoming months, starting in Sofia this Friday.
"We might have more confidence than usual with the way the season has started in our first three games," he said. "I think we have done well.
"And I just want to be consistent. I was fortunate enough to play (for England) in the second-half of last season and I want to continue to do that.
"The manager will need the whole 24 or 25 man squad."
Lescott was also quick to pay tribute to Hart, after the goalkeeper has seemingly firmly established himself as Capello's number one over the last year.
"Joe is a lively character and it hasn't changed him one bit," added Lescott.
"The praise he has been getting is deserved, and the performances he has put in have shown he deserves to be number one."
