Defender delighted with display and fitness.
England defender Ledley King was thrilled to play the full 90 minutes during the 3-1 win over Mexico and says there are no problems over his fitness ahead of the World Cup in South Africa.
King has been troubled with a persisten knee injury this season, but he produced an impressive display at the heart of the England defence and headed Fabio Capello’s side into the lead with his first international goal since a strike against Portugal in February 2004.
The Tottenham defender had nothing but praise for the way the England medical team have got him fully fit and admits he would love the chance to represent his country at the World Cup this summer.
“The knee is okay," said King. "The more I play, the fitter I will be and I have managed to play a lot of games this season.
“We have got a great set-up here. The medical staff are helping me and it is down to the Manager. I will do the best I can and see how it goes
“Mexico moved the ball quickly and the Manager made his feelings known at half–time. We did a lot better in second half.”
