Harry Redknapp admits he would like to sign Joe Cole from Liverpool
Harry Redknapp is eyeing a January move for England and Liverpool star
Joe Cole, but only if the deal is right for all parties concerned.
The QPR manager is looking to make a number of transfer swoops as his side look to avoid relegation from the Premier League and 31-year-old Cole is someone that he would like to add to the Loftus Road squad.
But with the former West Ham United and Chelsea player under contract with Liverpool, Redknapp admits there will have to be some negotiation with opposite number Brendan Rodgers before anything could happen.
He said: "I have got a lot of time for Joe as a player and a person.
"He is a good lad to have around your football club - a good player."
Redknapp, who gave Cole his professional debut when in charge of West Ham, has hinted that a loan deal would be the most likely outcome, if an agreement can be reached.
"I would like to bring Joe here if we could but the deal has to be right for the club," he added.
"We couldn't do a deal for what his contract is at Liverpool. We would have to look at doing a deal with Liverpool if they are willing to let him go.
"I will have to speak to Brendan (Rodgers) when the time is right and see what he has to say."
Cole has won 56 caps for the Three Lions, but hasn't been capped since
the game with Germany in the 2010 World Cup.
