Defender speaks to FATV about his debut and goal in Sweden
Sweden 4-2 England
7.30pm, Wednesday 14 November 2012
Friends Arena, Stockholm
Despite the defeat on Wednesday,
Steven Caulker could look back on a bittersweet evening in Stockholm with pride.
The Tottenham Hotspur defender won his first cap for the senior team and also got his name on the scoresheet, before Swedish captain Zlatan Ibrahimovich took over and stole the headlines with his four goal salvo.
Speaking to
FATV, Caulker revealed: "I was delighted with the goal, but it was unfortunate about the result.
"Ibrahimovic deserves a lot of credit for four fantastic goals, but I thought we played well in patches and we were slightly unlucky to lose."
The 20-year-old played for 74 minutes after performing admirably against the former Barcelona, Juventus and Inter Milan striker but could only watch from the sidelines as Ibrahimovich turned the game around.
And he will now take his experiences back to White Hart Lane after facing one of the best players in the world.
"He's a strong guy and is very quick as well, so he's up there with, if not, the best that I've played against," he added.
"But it was a great experience to play and I was very proud to make my debut."
