England defender looks set to be back in action for Manchester United in Istanbul
England defender
Phil Jones looks set to make his long-awaited return to action.
The 20-year-old has been hampered by injury since the summer and is yet to play for Manchester United this season.
But his club boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, says he's ready for selection as the Old Trafford giants take on Galatasaray in Istanbul on Tuesday night.
"It's a big day for Phil Jones," said Ferguson.
"He's been out all season but has done enough training to make sure his fitness is okay."
Jones, who joined United in June 2011, last played for England in their May friendly away in Norway and was also part of Roy Hodgson's Euro 2012 squad in Poland and Ukraine.
However, a back injury in the summer followed by surgery to a knee problem picked up in pre-season has meant the former Blackburn Rovers youngster hasn't featured this campaign.
Ferguson added: "They've all been different types of injuries and because he is young, he's still to develop physically.
"He's only 20 years of age so there's plenty of time for him."
