Arsene Wenger to take cautious approach as Wilshere returns for Gunners.
Jack Wilshere was back in training with Arsenal on Thursday, much to the delight of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
After a year on the sidelines with an ankle injury, which has kept him out of action not only for his club, but also England, Wenger says he will be cautious as the 20-year-old looks for a first-team return.
Wilshere did not feature for Arsenal at all last season and last figured for the Three Lions in their European Championship Qualifier against
Switzerland at Wembley in June 2011.
Speaking to the
official Arsenal website Wenger said: "We are so pleased that Jack is back in full training.
"It has been 14 months and that is a long time for someone at his age. It is an eternity, but it is great news.
"We have to give him a few training sessions to see how he copes and responds to it, that is the delicate, sensitive stage - to choose when to bring him in and out.
"We will have to handle that day-by-day."
Wenger added: "Jack is fit to practise and play, but to put high-level performances in takes time.
"He will need a few games in the reserves."
