England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson names his squad on Monday afternoon for a match which he believes is 'a game for men'...read the coach's thoughts below...

Looking ahead to the crucial Euro qualifier against Turkey - a game Sven admits is one of the biggest tests of his managerial career - the England coach knows what it will take for England to get the right result.

"The head will be the key - I'm pretty sure about that," he says.

One of the psychological issues that Sven will need to resolve is what state of mind he sends his team out with. Given the fact that a point is all England need, will it be a case protecting what we've got?

The answer, according to Sven, is an unequivocal no.

"In my opinion, I don't think that we have a team with a mentality to go out and play for a nil-nil," he reveals.

"I don't think it's our character to do that. Perhaps it might work for an Italian team but I don't think it is right for us.

"It is also a risky gameplan because we might be goalless after 88 minutes and then concede a corner. If that's a goal then it's goodnight."

If England are to go out and look for goals then Sven's selection upfront will have a major bearing on how we do on the night. It is not a decision the England coach has taken yet.

With Michael Owen picking up an injury over the weekend and Rooney and Heskey very much in the frame, the coach said of his striking options: "I want to think about that next week. Maybe it will be the biggest decision that I will have to make. It's one that we will take during the week based on the form that they show in training."

Sven revealed that Rooney's youth will not count against him despite the importance of the game.

"This is a game for men and Wayne Rooney is a young man. He has already proved his maturity for England."

Sven's mood ahead of the big match is best described as one of calm assurance.

"I am confident," he says. "We know it's going to be difficult but I think it's a very difficult game for Turkey as well.

"It will be a dramatic 90 minutes - I am sure."

*Owen update: The England medical staff have been in consultation with the Liverpool medical staff and we understand Michael has a 50-50 chance of playing against Turkey.
