Sven-Goran Eriksson has given a message of support to the England rugby squad as they prepare to fly out to the World Cup in Australia...

"Tomorrow night the England Rugby Union squad will travel to Australia as they embark on the their greatest challenge for four years.

"They go into the Rugby World Cup as one of the favourites, deservedly so when you consider their form over the past 12 months.

"After experiencing football's World Cup last summer, I know just how exciting the build up to such a tournament can be.

"Clive Woodward has done a very good job and built a team which is admired greatly by rugby fans across the world.

"It would be tremendous for the whole country if England could win the World Cup. I will be following their progress while they are in Australia and I would like to wish everyone connected with the team good luck."
