The latest FIFA World Rankings have seen Sven-Goran Eriksson's England climb two places to sixth whilst World Cup winners Brazil still hold on to top spot...

Brazil and second-placed European Champions France enjoy a 62-point cushion ahead of the rest of the top sides in the world though the next few countries are all close together.

England's two qualifying victories over Macedonia and Liechtenstein saw them move up to sixth, going above Holland, who lost 3-1 in Prague to the Czech Republic, and Turkey.

Sven-Goran Eriksson's men are now a point behind Mexico (5th) and five points behind the Argentinians in fourth.

England were ranked 17th when Sven took over and their current 6th place equals the highest position since the Swede took over.

Since the rankings were introduced in 1993, England's all time low came in February 1996 when the Three Lions slipped to 27th in the world.

However, by December 1997, Glenn Hoddle took England to their highest-ever position of 4th after his side's sensastional qualification for France '98.
