The Football Association's Paul Barber has today re-iterated the organisation's call for fans not to travel to Turkey, saying that it would be 'very, very dangerous' to ignore the advice...

Barber, The FA's Director of Marketing and Communications, told Radio 5 Live :"We have been absolutely clear since taking the decision not to make tickets available that we don't want England fans to travel and I think you'll find that the Turkish FA, Uefa, the Government and the police here are also very clear - England fans shouldn't travel next month.

"As far as we know the co-operation with the Turkish FA has been excellent, it's been very close, there's been a lot of information passed between the two and that will certainly continue over the next three very important weeks.

"We can only do so much. We're asking here for people to apply commonsense and to actually think about the potential consequences if they were to travel against the advice of the FA, the Government and the police, to find themselves buying tickets on the black market and going into a ground that's unsegregated.

"Unfortunately there's been a lot of history in the recent past between Turkish and English fans which hasn't been pleasant and all we've tried to do all the way through these last few months is to avoid any potential for trouble in Istanbul.

"For fans to ignore that advice is very, very dangerous and we really would urge them to reconsider and stay at home."
