Following recent reports concerning the England Team's involvement in an international mini-tournament next year, TheFA.com spoke to Paul Barber, The FA's Director of Marketing and Communications, who explained the situation to us...

"We are currently talking to a number of nations regarding the senior team's fixtures for 2004," revealed Barber.

"But we cannot confirm any plans to play in a mini-tournament in this country or elsewhere."

He added: "A mini-tournament is simply one of a number of options we have in the pipeline for next year's fixtures programme."
