With both Real Madrid and England having key games next week, David Beckham's situation is currently being resolved...
Madrid have a league match away to Villareal next Wednesday night, with England due to fly out to Macedonia on Thursday ahead of Saturday's crucial European Qualifier in Skopje on Saturday night.
The England skipper said: "I've played for England for nearly 10 years, so I'm used to it but it is important the situation gets sorted out."
The FA's Head of Media Relations, Adrian Bevington, told us: "Understandably David wants to play in Real's game on Wednesday. However, conversations between Sven and Real boss Carlos Queiroz must take place over the next few days to discuss this matter further.
"Were it to become absolutely necessary, The FA could invoke FIFA's four day rule, though, at this stage, we were prefer the issue to be resolved through the conversations between both managers."
In the meantime, Beckham plays tonight in the second leg of Real's Spanish Super Cup match against Copa del Rey winners Real Mallorca. The champions lost the away match 2-1 on Sunday but will hope they can turn over the deficit in the Bernabeu.
The England squad for the games against Macedonia and Liechtenstein will be announced exclusively on TheFA.com on Sunday night...
