England defender Gary Neville could miss the friendly match with Croatia next month after flying home from Manchester United's tour of the United States due to injury.
Neville pulled his hamstring during United's win over Celtic in Seattle last week and has been told he will be out for at least three weeks, he has now returned to Manchester for treatment. The 28 year-old looks set to be ruled out of United's opening fixtures, next weekend's Community Shield clash with Arsenal and the first Premiership match with Bolton as well as England's friendly at Portman Road on 20th August.
His absence leaves Sven with some questions before naming his squad for the fixture. Gary's younger brother Phillip could fill in or Danny Mills may again be called upon. Bayern Munich midfielder Owen Hargreaves is a more than capable replacement while England Under-21 full-back Glen Johnson made a £6m switch to Chelsea this summer.
