Histon duo Nathaniel Knight-Percival and Erkan Okay have been called into the England C squad for this week’s International Challenge Trophy Group A fixture against Finland in Helsinki, following the withdrawal of Stevenage Borough’s Mitchell Cole and Aldershot’s Louis Soares,

Cole has pulled out due to a groin strain, whilst Soares has decided that he would prefer his international future to lie with Barbados.

However, England C Manager Paul Fairclough was philosophical that the withdrawal of the two players would give an exciting opportunity to the two replacements that he has called up.

“Both players have had tremendous seasons so far and are fully deserving of their call-up,” he stated.

Histon FC manager Steve Fallon added: “This is fantastic news for two very promising young players and is a testimony to all the hard work, and effort both have has put into their game.

“Nathaniel’s progress has been phenomenal. Increasingly opponents are wising up to the threat posed by him from wide left and with his modest, unassuming manner, it couldn't happen to a nicer lad.

“Erkan is another good lad, just like Nathaniel, who has adjusted brilliantly to his new position on the right. His selection is fully justified and a terrific boost for Erkan and this club. Everyone at the club is delighted with this high-level recognition."
