International National Game XI Friendly
England v Holland
Woking FC
16 Febraury 2004
England National Game XI manager Paul Fairclough has whittled down his original 32-man squad to a final sixteen that will face Holland on Wednesday 16th February at Woking FC (Kick-off 7.45pm).
A Barnet quartet of Nicky Bailey, Liam Hatch, Simon King and Dean Sinclair ensure that Fairclough's table-topping side are the dominant force in the squad, joined by Karl Hawley and Simon Grand from chasing side Carlisle United.
These six could well face each other on opposite sides this weekend when the Cumbrians host Barnet in the Fourth Round of The FA Trophy.
Dean Moxey, Exeter City's FA Cup Player of the Round makes his first appearance in the squad and Stuart Thurgood from Grays Athletic also makes the final sixteen, the only player from outside the Conference National.
Host club Woking will also be well represented on the night with Luke Oliver and 'keeper Schwan Jalal in the squad. With posters and flyers reaching local schools and clubs in the area this week, Manager Paul Fairclough is hoping for another big crowd.
A record crowd of 3,703 were at Shrewsbury Town in February last year when England were defeated by Italy; can this be beaten in a fortnight's time?
This will be the 17th meeting between the two sides, with England winning 12 and the Dutch yet to record a victory.
