Brian Eastick

Brian Eastick joined The FA as a National Coach in August 2005 and is currently in charge of England U20s after initially taking charge of the U18 and U19 teams.

Earlier this year, Eastick was part of Stuart Pearce’s Under-21 coaching staff at the European Championship Finals in Sweden, before he was in charge of the England U19 team which reached the Final of the 2009 European U19 Championship in Ukraine.

He was the Head Coach of the U19s in 2008 too, when their performance in reaching the Final stages of the European U19 Championship saw them qualify for the U20 World Cup.

An experienced coach who holds the UEFA Pro license, Brian has coached at Queens Park Rangers, Chelsea, Brighton and Hove Albion, Charlton Athletic, Leyton Orient, Coventry City, Crewe Alexandra and Sheffield United in a 30 year career.

He spent more than two years as Academy Director and Head Coach under Sir Bobby Robson at Newcastle United and seven years as Academy Director at Birmingham City prior to that.

An excellent coach educator and developer of young players, he also worked part-time at The FA National School at Lilleshall from 1988 to 1995 to work with the elite crop of young  English players at the time.  He then assisted Bryan Hamilton with the Northern Ireland national team from 1995 to 1998 and had a spell as assistant coach of the Republic of Ireland Under-21s.

As a player, Eastick was selected to play for the England U18s whilst a young professional at Crystal Palace.

He will be assisted in charge of the U20 team by Kenny Swain, with Simon Smith as Goalkeeping Coach.
