England Under-21s midfielder Tom Cleverley says the draw against Greece in Tripoli was a fair result as the Three Lions took four points from their opening Euro 2011 Qualifying double-header.
Stuart Pearce's team took an early lead thanks to Daniel Sturridge, but Sotiris Ninis equalised just before half-time. Both sides had chances, and Cleverley himself could have himself extended England's lead in the first half with a right foot effort that narrowly missed the post.
However, the Watford man who was making his first start at Under-21 level after a subsitute appearance in Holland last month, told TheFA.com that he hopes to find the net next time. "It's nice to get my full deut iunder my belt," said Cleverley, who is currently on loan at Vicarage Road from Manchester United.
"We started off really well. I thought we could have gone on from there, two, three-nil. We've hit the post, had a couple of chances, but then again so have they, so I think a draw is the fair result.
"That's what I like to do when I play on the left, cut inside and fire shots at the far post. I thought it was just going to come round nice, but it just flashed past the post. Hopefully it goes in next time."
