The Stadium
The Gamla Ullevi stadium is home to three of the biggest football clubs in Gothenburg and has a capacity of nearly 17,000. The stadium has been under reconstruction since 2007 in order for it to be completed in time for the Under-21 Championship. The new version of the stadium has been built in the same place as the historic old Ullevi stadium which has stood since 1915. The new stadium was finally completed in April 2009. The stadium will be the venue for three Group B matches and the Semi-Final of the competition.

The Clubs
The stadium plays host to three clubs who are based in Gothenburg city. The three clubs who are all competing in Sweden's top league are IFK Goteborg, GAIS and Orgryte IS. The three clubs all share a fierce rivalry and have over 30 Swedish championships between them. However, it is IFK Goteborg who are regarded as the biggest team in Scandinavia, having regularly played and enjoyed success in the UEFA Cup and Champions League.

The City
Founded in the 17th century, Gothenburg is Sweden's second biggest city and is situated on the south-west coast of Sweden. The river Gota runs through the city which makes it a prime place for tourists admiring the scenery the city has to offer. There are many museums scattered around the city for art and culture lovers and there is even a Volvo museum for car enthusiasts. There is a tourist boat which runs along the beautiful rivers and canals during the day and the city also contains the biggest sea port in Scandinavia. For those who are looking for something different to occupy their time when not watching the Championship, there is an amusement park called Liseburg which is one of the main tourist attractions in the city. The park was recently named one of the top-ten best amusement parks in the world. One of the most modern opera houses in the world, the Goteberg Opera House, is based in the heart of the city.

Travel
Gothenburg has Sweden's second largest airport and both rail and bus inter city links to many destinations around Sweden, such as Oslo and Malmo. The Gothenburg tram is the most accessible transport service which commuters use to get around the city.
