England’s new season kicks off against the Czech Republic on 20 August, and tickets go on general sale on 8 July.

However, as members of englandfans, people like Chris Jonas and his family will be among the many able to purchase tickets on Friday.

And advance discounted ticketing is not the only benefit that being a member of the official England supporters club has given them. It has also provided the opportunity to both travel the world and see the Three Lions in action

Chris, along with wife Janet and two children Geoff, 15, and Katherine, eleven, have been all over the world following England and also taking in places where the family might not otherwise have seen.

Over the years, they have seen England in action in places as diverse as Durban in South Africa, Chicago in the USA and Tel Aviv in Israel.

They are also heading out to Port of Spain for next week’s friendly game against Trinidad & Tobago, but the family’s favourite match so far came back in 2002 when they made the trip to Sapporo in Japan for England’s World Cup match with Argentina.

“It is certainly the best game that we’ve seen, in terms of the match, the result and the occasion,” admitted Chris.

“It’s a great chance to spend some time together as a family and visit places such as Israel and South Africa, where we might not normally go for a holiday.

“We’ve also met some good friends through travelling to watch England and it’s always good to catch up with them.”

Surrey-based Chris has been a regular England follower for many years himself, but admits that since being a member of englandfans, match tickets have been easier to come by.

“I’ve been going to watch England at Wembley for over 40 years now, but the englandfans scheme makes it the best way to get tickets,” he said.

“The family area at Wembley is fantastic value, with great seats on the lower tier and the packs which are sent out, including the country guides and news about the games and team all make it a terrific scheme.”
