Talking exclusively to TheFA.com with the World Cup balls only just out of the pot, England Captain David Beckham has revealed that he is more excited than ever following the draw in Leipzig - and feels that he has every chance of lifting the World Cup next July.
The England skipper now knows that he will be leading the team out against Paraguay, Trinidad & Tobago and finally Sweden next summer.
And that offers plenty of challenges - some more predictable than others - as the Three Lions attempt to qualify for the knock-out stages.
"Watching the World Cup draw today has already excited me as I think about the tournament ahead," Beckham exclusively told TheFA.com. "We meet a familiar opponent in Sweden – one that both the players and manager know well.
"I am looking forward to playing my old team-mate Dwight Yorke with Trinidad and Tobago. He is someone who I share many great memories with.
"Paraguay are a bit of an unknown quantity, but we will be prepared fully when we meet them," he added. "To use an old football cliché there are no easy games. We have to go out and prove we are one of the favourites.
"If we work hard and play to our potential we have a genuine chance of winning the World Cup."
Meanwhile, FA Chief Executive Brian Barwick has revealed that he and Sven had discussed England drawing Sweden before it had even happened!
"We talked about who we may or may not get beforehand and Sweden was one of those fixtures that, given all our links, we’d mentioned a few times. So, when it came up, we had a little chuckle," revealed Barwick, who sat next to Sven at the draw.
"They are an opponent that we’ve struggled to beat in recent years but this would seem to be the ideal opportunity to put that right."
For Barwick, the prospect of England’s first-ever international encounter with Trinidad and Tobago is also a particularly enticing one.
"I think they are going to be terrific fun," he said. "Their delegation was very excited to draw England. It’s going to be a very interesting fixture – it’s the sort of match the World Cup should be about.
"We will not under-estimate them one iota though. They’ve got a very experienced coach too."
With England’s fate now known, Barwick, like all England fans has that feeling that the biggest show in football is just around the corner.
"The draw has made the World Cup come to life," he said. "The speculation is always fascinating but now we’re dealing with the reality.
"We’re playing three different teams, who all have colourful fans, in three different venues. I sense there is going to be a lot of fun in this World Cup because it truly embraces the world and the world game. Our group is perfect evidence of that."
