Real Madrid's Luis Figo will be crucial to Portugal's hopes of a home success.
Scolari names Portugal squad
Tuesday, 18 May 2004.
Luiz Felipe Scolari has named his squad that the whole of Portugal is hoping will win Euro 2004.
Scolari sprung a few surprises with some of his choices, especially in the selections of Maniche and Postiga.
The Porto midfield player gets his first call since the Portuguese lost to Iberian rivals Spain in September whilst Postiga is chosen ahead of Luís Boa Morte.
Among the midfielders, the only survivors from the Portuguese golden generation are Luís Figo and Rui Costa while 19-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo, Porto's Deco and the Benfica duo of Tiago and Petit provide some youthful vigour.
