The stage is set for England at the first World Deaf Championship in Patras, Greece, when the Deaf Team will fight it out against 15 countries for the most treasured prize in Deaf Football.

Mark Pover leads his team into their first international championship featuring 11-a-side football, and names a squad of 18 players who have been selected for the trip to Greece.

Richard Horner has devised a tough programme for his players ahead of the Championship, which will be a physical challenge for many – with the hot Greece climate in July being the extra factor in their preparations.

England are grouped together with Germany, Malaysia and the hosts Greece. The Three Lions kick off their World Challenge against the mighty Germans on Wednesday 2 July.
