    Biography

Dave Watson was appointed by England Manager Roy Hodgson to work alongside Ray Clemence as a goalkeeping coach for the European Championship in 2012 after an agreement was reached with Birmingham City.

A former England Under-21 goalkeeper, who played for Barnsley before seeing his career ended prematurely by injury, Watson forged a successful career as a coach and worked closely with Joe Hart when he was on loan at St Andrew's during the 2009-10 season.

Watson has also worked at Oldham Athletic, Huddersfield Town, Northampton Town and Nottingham Forest and has also worked with England previously at development level.

Speaking about the appointment, Hodgson said: "Dave is highly rated throughout the game and is well respected by the goalkeepers who have worked with him, importantly Joe Hart

"He has worked with a number of current English goalkeepers and has experience of working with England development teams so we know he will fit in well with the squad. I'm personally delighted to have him as part of the England staff at the tournament.

"I'd like to thank everyone at Birmingham City Football Club for agreeing to Dave working at the Euros."
