A rangy central midfielder, who was a regular for England at U16 and U17 level before receiving his first call-up to the U19s for the European Championship qualifiers in October 2010.
With a good range of passing and a strong physical presence, Thorne was a member of John Peacock's U17 squad which became European champions in May 2010.
The West Bromwich Albion player has also been involved with the first team squad at the Hawthorns and enjoyed two loan spells with Portsmouth in the Championship, so will be hoping to get more domestic experience under his belt with the Baggies as well as progressing on the international stage.
