The Wigan Athletic goalkeeper was first called into the England squad for the U19 European Championships in July 2010, although he didn't get any action as he was there to back up Declan Rudd as well as pick up the experience of being away with an international squad.
He had previously impressed during a training camp prior to the competition, after impressing for Wigan's reserve team throughout the 2009-10 campaign and he got his first U19 cap in 2011 when he featured against Germany at Chesterfield.
The Liverpool-born stopper was then included in Brian Eastick's squad for the FIFA U20 World Cup in Colombia in July 2011.
