Midfielder Jason was called into a training camp for the England U19 side after impressing in his form for Blackburn Rovers in the Academy and reserve team at Ewood Park and was on stand-by for the squad which travelled to Ukraine for the European U19 Championship Elite Qualifying Round.
He was then named in Noel Blake's squad for the Euro Finals in France, but an unfortunate injury in training just days before the squad headed to Normandy saw him ruled out.
His continued good form for Blackburn ensured that he was in the U20 squad to play France at Shrewsbury in February 2011 and he was then selected for the FIFA U20 World Cup in Colombia later that year.
