Biography

Current club: Liverpool

Martin is a Liverpool local who has worked his way through the academy and into the Anfield First Team.

A 6’3” defender, he made international appearances at U19 and U20 level, and made his debut for Stuart Pearce’s Under-21s against Uzbekistan in 2010 – scoring the second goal in a 2-0 victory.

His main international tournament experience came at the 2009 FIFA U20 World Cup in Egypt, where he was involved in all three of England’s games – facing Uruguay, Ghana and Uzbekistan.

At the start of the 2010-11 season, he saw action for Liverpool as they looked to qualify for the UEFA Europa League proper and earned positive reviews for his performances against Rabotnicki Skopje and Trabzonspor.
