Biography

Current club: Tottenham Hotspur

A product of Derby County’s youth system, Tom is now a regular in Tottenham’s first team, making 43 appearances for Spurs this season (2009-10) and helping them to fourth place in the Premier League.

Still only 23, the 6’2” central midfielder has long been recognised as a talent to watch. He made his debut for the Rams at just 16 and went on make 95 appearances for them.

It was at Derby that he began his England career, working his way through the national development teams from U16s to the Under-21s, where he claimed 33 caps.

He moved to White Hart Lane in 2005 where his consistency and all round improvement was rewarded with his England senior debut in November 2009, coming on as substitute against Brazil in Qatar.
