'Zeki' is a technically adept player, who can feature in a number of positions across defence and midfield.
His first caps at U16 level saw him play as a central defender, where his pace and composure allowed him to stand out from the crowd in the often hectic Victory Shield games of 2007.
With a good ability to read the game and a decent range of passing with his strong left-foot, it was perhaps no surprise to see him emerge further up the pitch in a holding midfield role in later appearances. In this role, he can utilise both his defensive ability and get involved in the opposition half of the field too.
Born in Manchester, Fryers was on the books of Manchester United for a number of years before switching to Standard Liege in 2012.
He made a swift return to England when Tottenham Hotspur signed him in 2013.
