Fankaty helped England keep a clean sheet against Northern Ireland on his U16 debut, helping the Young Lions achieve a 3-0 win. The Chelsea defender travelled to France later in the year for the Montaigu Tournament and featured in all four matches as England triumphed.
He has won silverware already in his fledgling career, having been part of the Chelsea side that won the Milk Cup in 2010 without conceding a goal, and he has been a regular on the scoresheet, too. He featured for the club's U18s in season 2010-11 and will look at the Blues players who have graduated from the U17s to the higher age groups, leading to first team chances for some, including Josh McEachran
Fankaty can operate at centre-back, right-back or in midfield.
