Jess developed through the age groups within Leeds Carnegie Ladies (now Leeds United Ladies) youth system and soon established herself as a regular first-team player.
She represented England at U15, U17 and U19 levels before making a breakthrough with the seniors in 2009. Her three appearances at Euro 2009 included one in the semi-final.
Now with Lincoln Ladies, Jess featured in seven 2011 World Cup qualifiers, including the play-off against Switzerland, scoring four goals.
She continued this impressive goalscoring streak in the Finals when she netted the winning goal against New Zealand in the group stage.
