Biography

A tall central defender who caught the eye of the international scouts with his form for Aston Villa in their Academy and reserve teams.

His first taste of international football came in an U19s victory against Germany at Colchester United's Weston Homes Community Stadium whilst he was still a year younger than most of the players on show and his performance that night saw him go on to become a regular in the Young Lions squad.

Unfortunately, his international caps have been restricted by injury, and he was forced to withdraw from the squad which reached the Final of the European U19 Championship in 2009 after previously proving to be a key member of the team.

His continued development saw him play regular football for Lincoln City on loan during the 2009-10 campaign, whilst still remaining an important part of the U19 squad, who he helped into the semi-final of the European Championship in Normandy during July 2010.

The 2010-11 campaign saw Nathan push his claims at Villa Park and he made a number of appearances for the Midlands giants during the season as well as earn his first Under-21 cap towards the end of the season.

Summer 2011 saw him selected for the U20 squad to compete in the FIFA U20 World Cup in Colombia.
