Biography

A highly rated forward for both club and country, Afobe has been a regular for England's junior teams since October 2008 when he made his bow for the U16s against Northern Ireland in the Victory Shield.

He was an instant hit too, as his goals helped Kenny Swain's Young Lions to win the Shield and after just three appearances for the U16s, he was quickly progressed into John Peacock's U17 squad to help them qualify for the 2009 European U17 Championship Finals in Germany. All whilst still a year younger than most of his team-mates.

If the Finals in 2009 ended in disappointment for the Arsenal ace, he more than made up for it a year later when he returned to the Final stage to help England lift the title in Liechtenstein.

With a nice turn of pace and skill on the ball, Afobe is as equally effective on the wing as he is through the middle and the Barnet-born sharpshooter has since been selected by U19s boss Noel Blake after making his debut for that team as a second half substitute against Slovakia in 2010.
