After a recent slump in form, Fulham's U18 manager Kit Symons warned his players of complacency ahead of their FA Youth Cup Third Round tie at home to Carlisle on Tuesday night.

A reaction is what he got in the form of a 3-1 win, as Ronny Minkwitz and an Omri Altman penalty put Fulham two up. Dale Minor pegged the home side back, but Minkwitz added another to complete the victory.

And Norwich City eased through to the Fourth Round, thrashing Oldham Athletic at home 5-0.

Aston Villa visited the Amex stadium for the first time and left feeling bitter, as Brighton pulled off a shock 1-0 victory and knocked the Villains out. Just before the hour, a superb Jake Forster-Caskey set-piece was enough to settle the game.

Watford took a two-goal lead at Millwall, before having to show tremendous character and fitness, playing the last 20 minutes with ten men to win 2-1.

Skipper Tommie Hoban and Bernard Mensah had put the visitors into an early lead. Millwall returned after the break ready to take the game to Watford, and just after the hour mark, they got their just deserves when Niall McManus skipped passed several challenges and finished the ball the low into the net. Ten minutes later, left-back Kyle Connolly received his second yellow and was sent in for an early bath, leaving his team to hold out the final 20 minutes.

An extra-time winner from Preston's Andy Hall was needed to secure a 2-1 win from a closely fought contest at Stoke. Preston dominated the first half and were rewarded with a goal just before the break from Will Hayhurst. Stoke returned after the break a far greater team, and with six minutes to go, Tunji Agbaje snatched a late equaliser to force the game into extra-time. That was Hall's cue to get on the scoresheet from a set-piece finish the tie.

Extra-time was also needed to separate Crystal Palace and Everton before the Merseyside club came away with a 2-1 victory. Everton had dominated much of the game, but still found themselves 1-0 down inside the first ten minutes from an Alex Wynter goal.

Everton's Ross Barkley, who has appeared twice for the first time this season, grabbed the equaliser that forced the game into extra-time, allowing Anton Forrester to steal the glory with his late winner.
