Rochdale Ladies smashed nine past Hull in The FA Women's Cup on Sunday and there were also a deluge of goals in Tranmere, as Rotherham United ran out 6-1 winners.

Siobhan Wood was the star of the show with two goals while strikes from Terry Longstone, Helen Linskey, Samantha Hale and Hailey Wood condemned Whitley to defeat.

Kate Thorne netted for Tranmere to make it 4-1 at half-time, but the damage had been done - Rotherham will host Liverpool Feds in the next round.

On a bumper day of Cup action, there were a further eight goals in Whitley Bay's clash with Blackpool Wren Rovers - it was just too bad for Blackpool that seven went to Whitley. Sara Coleman netted a treble and Kirsty Hunter, Jo Suddes, Melanie Carr and Rachel Mellor netted as Whitley won 7-1.

With Rochdale beating Hull 9-1, it promises to be an enthralling clash when they travel to Whitley in the next round.

Gemma Tewkesbury inspired Yeovil to an impressive 3-0 victory at Saltash United. Lindsey Rowe set the visitors on their way with a neat finish on the hour and three minutes later, Tewkesbury's drive nestled into the net to put the game beyond doubt.

And Tewkesbury added further gloss to the scoreline when she netted from the penalty spot 10 minutes from time.

Elsewhere, it was more a case of Swindon Submarine than Swindon Supermarine as their match away at Plymouth was a total washout.

The clash, with a tie in the next round against Havant & Waterlooville at stake, will now take place at Swindon next Sunday.
