A dramatic late goal from substitute Peter Vincenti earned Stevenage Borough a 1-0 win over Ebbsfleet United in The FA Trophy Semi-Final, booking Boro a place in the Wembley Final.

Ebbsfleet trailed 3-2 from the first leg and were unable to make a breakthrough in an incredibly tense tie at Stonebridge Road.

Graham Westley’s side must have thought they were off to a dream start when David Bridges bundled home from six yards - only to see his effort ruled out after the referee ruled the ball had earlier gone out of play.

Ebbsfleet lifted their game in the second period but were still unable to break the deadlock, with Luke Moore coming agonisingly close for Liam Daish’s side.

The hosts grew in confidence as the game progressed and it was only due to the heroics of Stevenage goalkeeper Chris Day that they still trailed on aggregate.

There were chances at either end as the game approached its final stages and tension was high when four minutes of stoppage time were signalled.

Ebbsfleet surged forward in search of a goal to force extra-time but Vincenti caught Daish’s side on the break with a cool finish to send the Hertfordshire side to their third FA Trophy Final.
