Witton Park Rose & Crown kept north-east hopes alive in The FA Sunday Cup, with another fine display of football and victory to boot.
Silsden were no match for Witton Park on the day and the home side were on top for most of the first half, but a fifth-minute Gary Thexton goal was all that separated the sides at the halfway point.
The visitors put on more of a show in the second half after some stern words from their manager, however the Park soon ran into a 4-0 lead with a goal from Stuart Campbell and a brace from Jason Brazaukas.
Silsden managed a couple of consolation goals late on, but Witton Park were never in any real danger. A good crowd turned out at the West Auckland ground on a typically cold north-east day and the Park now look forward to a Fourth Round trip to Canada (Liverpool) on 11 January 2009.
