Magnet Tavern manager John Chand believes there is more to come from his side as they lock horns with Birstall Stamford this weekend for a place in The Final at Anfield.

Having scored at least three goals per game in the competition so far, Chand's team have put together an impressive run of results, but the manager still feels their opponents Stamford will go into the game as favourites.

He said: "We'll probably go into the match as the underdogs, but we'll just try and perform as well as we know we can and give a good account of ourselves.

"We know very little about the opposition in all honesty, but what we do know is that they are a seasoned team in this competition and they are the best team in Leicestershire.

"That said, we've had some difficult games along the way and we played very well in the Quarter Final. There is still more to come from us and we've got better as the tournament progressed."

With the game set to take place just a few miles down the road for Stamford, albeit a neutral ground in Hinckley United, Chand is aware that support for their opponents is likely to outnumber their own travelling fans.

"I'm sure they'll feel like it is a home tie for them and I expect that they'll have a very big following for the game.

"To get to The Final would be a massive achievement for our club and it would be great for the people of Boston to have a local side reach the final of a national competition."

Tavern are yet to taste defeat in the Spalding and District Sunday League this campaign, while Stamford have lost just once in the Charnwood Sunday Football League Premier Division this season.
