The FA Sunday Cup has got off to a flier, with goals galore across the country at the weekend.
A series of eye-catching results were probably topped by Hanham Sunday's crushing 11-1 victory at Applebys. Not to be outdone, Loughborough Saints almost matched that feat as they ran out 10-0 winners at home to Station Gates.
Beaten finalists in 2009, Oyster Martyrs got their campaign off to a promising start with a 4-1 win away to Woodchurch AFC.
Gossoms End, however, succumbed to a shock defeat away at Belstone. The 2005 Cup winners were soundly beaten, going down 7-2 at The Medburn Ground.
Comet Sports Club secured their place in the Second Round in dramatic fashion, beating Hammer on penalties. Following a 3-3 draw in normal time, the Comets finally progressed by winning 5-4 in the penalty shootout.
An eleven-goal thriller saw FC Houghton Centre go through against Gamlingay United Sunday, winning 6-5 after a brilliant see-saw battle.
The Travellers will be delighted with their away form, thrashing Coventry Colliery 8-0.
Indeed, away victories were a theme of this opening round, with Clumber continuing the trend in a 7-0 demolition of Brereton Town.
Kingshurst Sporting Club were one team to make home advantage count in a high scoring affair, recording an 8-2 win over Thatch.
