This year’s FA Community Shield sponsored by McDonald's will see double winners Chelsea take on Premier League runners-up Manchester United at Wembley Stadium and the match will take place on Sunday 8 August.
The annual season curtain-raiser is a repeat of last year’s Community Shield which saw Chelsea win 4-1 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in normal time, to give Carlo Ancelotti a winning start in the Stamford Bridge hotseat.
It turned out to be a successful debut season in England for the 51-year-old Italian who guided Chelsea to 103 Premier League goals en route to the title while retaining The FA Cup with a 1-0 win over Portsmouth in May.
Almost 86,000 fans attended last year’s Community Shield with The FA distributing all proceeds to nominated community and charitable projects across the country.
Ticket prices for the game haven’t changed since 2006 and are priced at £40, £30, £20 and £15.
