Before Wednesday’s Second Round replay between United and Worcester City, the record for the competition proper had been held by Macclesfield after they beat Forest Green 11-10 on spot-kicks back in November 2001.

However, Worcester and Scunthorpe smashed that record with the visitors eventually running out 14-13 winners.
In an enthralling encounter Scunthorpe broke the deadlock just minutes before half-time.
Paddy Madden, who found the net in the first meeting between the sides, was once again on the scoresheet as he headed home Gary McSheffrey’s cross.
However midway through the second half Worcester grabbed the equaliser, Sean Geddes slotting a right-footed effort into the corner after Daniel Nti had picked him out.
That goal had City dreaming of a place in the Third Round and after a cagey period of extra-time it was left for penalties to separate the sides.
But it was heartbreak for the hosts after Wayne Thomas missed the 31st penalty of the night, allowing Miguel Llera to fire Scunthorpe through.

Worcester’s boss Carl Heeley was still very pleased with the effort of his squad.
“I'm so proud of the players – they were fantastic this evening. We took this right to the distance.
"I wish Scunthorpe the best of luck, but we've been outstanding,” said Heeley.
“We've got to use this as a springboard to push us up the league and see if we can get a play-off place. We've got to produce week in, week out.
“The players have done this club proud this evening. The club has got massive potential and the sky's the limit for us. I'm a proud man tonight – the players have been superb.”
Scunthorpe will play either MK Dons or Chesterfield in the Third Round. They replay their second-round tie on Friday 2 January.
