Man City celebrate Georgia Stanway's strike against Notts County

Manchester City maintained top spot in FA Women’s Super League 1 with a comfortable 5-1 away win over Notts County on Sunday.

Jane Ross struck twice for City with Jill Scott, Georgia Stanway and Izzy Christiansen also getting their names on the scoresheet, while Jess Clarke scored a penalty for Notts County.

Earlier in the day, both Arsenal and Chelsea had both recorded 4-0 wins over Sunderland and Doncaster Rovers Belles respectively to keep the pressure on the league leaders.

Eniola Aluko scored twice to get Chelsea back to winning ways while Ji Son Yun and Beth England were also in the goals, and fourth-placed Birmingham City were held to a 1-1 draw by Reading.

In FA WSL 2, Yeovil Town returned to the summit with their own 4-0 victory over Durham.

Two goals from Annie Heatherson rounded off a confident display from the Lady Glovers after Sarah Wiltshire and Helen Bleazard grabbed first-half goals.

Yeovil Town 4-0 Durham

Millwall Lionesses came from behind to deny Sheffield a fifth straight victory.

Sheffield’s Emma Lipman scored her first competitive goals for the club but the game ended 2-2.

Aston Villa beat Watford 2-0 while substitute Emily Hollinshead’s goal gave Everton a 1-0 victory over Oxford United.

Bristol City eased to a 3-0 win over London Bees on Saturday.
