England manager Sam Allardyce surprised fans on the Wembley Tour

New England manager Sam Allardyce sprang a surprise on his first official day at the national stadium, by ambushing a group on the official Wembley connected by EE Tour.

The 20-strong party had reached one of the highlights of the 75-minute tour – the Three Lions’ dressing room – only to find the recently appointed boss waiting for them.

And Big Sam took time out of his busy schedule to chat with the excited football fans, including visitors from the Netherlands and Italy, and pose for photographs.

It was a fitting event to take place on what was the busiest day of the popular Wembley Stadium Tour so far this year, with over 800 participants booked in.

"You never quite know what you will see on the Wembley Stadium Tour and having the new England manager meet and greet visitors as they entered the England dressing room was a fantastic moment," said Wembley Stadium Tours Manager Adam Burrage.

Wembley partner EE recently unveiled a brand new stadium tour, which uses innovative technology to bring the stadium to life.

Each tour participant is given a bespoke connected device which uses 360° video and augmented reality to recreate key sporting and musical moments, resulting in a unique, world-first tour experience.

The Wembley Stadium Tour, enhanced by the new EE SmartGuide and bringing Wembley to life like never before, departs every day over the summer from 10am to 5pm (Mon-Sat) and until 4pm on Sundays, with the exception of certain event days.
